2012 Program Schedule
Peter Viviano
May 15th, 2012
Peter C. Viviano Jr. is a saltwater fly fisherman, tier, guide and a big game hunter. He actually is a carpenter, but claims that’s just a cover to rationalize his existence. He started out fishing at such a young age that he cannot remember his first catches, he can’t remember 1980 till 83 either, but that’s another story. The last 20 plus years has been pretty much stripers on the fly with more and more time being devoted to high sun foot trips, stalking the skinny water. The rest of his time he volunteers at the Ted Nugent for president headquarters. Peter lives in Bergen county N.J. with his very patient wife and can be contacted through his website: Fishflyes.com
Ed Jaworowski
June 19th, 2012
Ed Jaworowski is an international flyfishing authority. His angling travels, classes, and lectures have taken him around much of North, Central, and South America, as well as the British Isles and Iceland. He has authored four books and served as editorial consultant for a fifth. These, along with his photographs and hundreds of articles, have been published in the USA, England, Spain, Norway, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and Japan. He is best known as a casting instructor, and Lefty Kreh calls Ed “a well-rounded freshwater and saltwater fly fisherman who understands fly casting techniques and principles better than any man I have ever met." Currently he tests and helps design fly tackle for Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO).
Jeff Dement
September 20th, 2011
Jeff Dement is head tagging person at the ALS, home of the largest volunteer, salt-water fish tagging program in the U.S. He will give us all the information you need to join nearly 1,500 taggers from Maine to the Gulf of Mexico who participate in their nationally recognized, volunteer, catch-and- release program. They have just celebrated 40 years of sharing information with fellow anglers and helping scientists learn more about the fish we catch and their habitat. Learn how to tag fish and understand how some of the returns educate us on the migrations of the fish we catch. Woody will also talk on the club albacore tagging we have done and learn about the first recorded ever!! abie tag and return caught by one of our members!!
Pete McDonald
October 18th, 2011
Over the course of a year, Pete McDonald and Tosh Brown followed an immeasurable biomass of predators and prey on their annual oceanic migration from Maine to North Carolina. From Casco Bay to The Outer Banks, they shot photographs, burned video footage, and interviewed an eclectic cast of anglers, guides, merchants, and fly tiers. They filled rent cars with sand, they fought ill-mannered dogs in cheap motels, and they boosted convenience store profits in nine different states. Join us to hear the stories of Pete McDonald and see the pictures of their adventures. Promises to be a entertaining evening.
